Canadian Wheelchair Foundation’s Numbers Tell Story of Long Standing Success

Surrey, BC: Part of recognizing success is measurement and as 2014 comes to a close it is an appropriate time to reflect on the experiences of the past year and beyond.

Numbers may not be the whole story, but they can be very telling. “Looking back to our beginnings, what we found in our numbers is a tale of incredible trust, generosity and love for mankind” said Executive Director, Christiana Flessner. “We are so tremendously proud of the accomplishments that have been made possible by our many partners, friends and stakeholders.”

Consider the impact of these numbers:

CWF started11.5 years ago
Total donations to date$5.4 Million (approx. CDN)
Donations year 1 vs year 112,000% increase
Wheelchairs delivered36,000 +
Lives touched400,000 +
Countries served41
Partners & stakeholders6,000 +

As these numbers show, both in Canada and abroad the transformation in people’s lives through the dedication of all of the people involved has been significant. Recipients of brand new wheelchairs have been able to view themselves in a new and optimistic light, endeavouring to attain what they could not have previously hoped for.

As a new year dawns in 2015 the Canadian Wheelchair Foundation will continue to strive for growth in its quest to improve the lives of those who lack personal mobility. Our hope is that the New Year will be filled with peace, joy and many more opportunities to make a difference through service to others.
